Government has urged all the district bodies on the Copperbelt to utilize their funds to avoid retains to the treasury. Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Howard Sikwela said this during a Copperbelt Provincial Development Committee Meeting (PDCC) held n Ndola. Reverend Sikwela said all the departments on the Copperbelt that would not spend their funds within the stipulated time frame would risk not being given more funds.
Police in Luapula Province have arrested a Witch-Finder for naming a person to be a wizard and obtaining K60, 000 by falsely pretending to prophecy circumstances in people’s lives. Meanwhile, Police officers in Lunga area of Samfya district are working in fear after local people started throwing stones to let go of the witch finders.
Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) has called on the youths to balance between human rights and responsibility. YMCA Ndola Secretary General Ngosa Malindi said in an interview that young people have lost direction and this has led to high criminal offences among the youths. “Youths have to understand their rights and also balance these rights with responsibility in orders to reduce criminal offences in our Country.” she said.
