University of Zambia Students Union (UNZASU) President Martin Muluya has charged that government has failed to effectively run public tertiary learning institutions.   Mr. Muluya said the ministry of education has failed to deliver the needs of students from various public learning institutions.

Collins Mbesuma marked his return to the national side with a winning goal as Zambia defeated Kenya 2-1 in a Group E match of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers played at Nyayo National Stadium.   The veteran forward struck three minutes before the interval after earlier setting up strike partner Winston Kalengo to cancel out Micheal Olunga’s 13th minute opener.

RESIDENTS of kalingalinga compound have expressed concern over the limited burial space at Chingwele and Leopards Hill burial sites. In an interview, a resident of the said compound, Enock Kaunda said it is sad that bereaved family members have to bear the pain of not being able to give their loved ones a decent burial because of shortage of burial spaces.

  Political Analyst Alex Ng'oma says Zambia is more likely to face negative effects of the economic crisis in China since the two countries are closely related in trade.   Dr. Ng'oma said there will be implications of the economic crisis even though the trade between Zambia and China is imbalanced.   He explained that China exports more to Zambia while the later imports more.
