Agriculture and Commecial Society of Zambia (ACSZ) President Murray Anderson says more than 20 foreign exhibitors will participate in this year's show. Mr Anderson said the 89th Agriculture and Commercial will be held from 29 th July to 3rd August 2015 under the theme Innovation beyond the golden jubilee. He explained that the show will be officially opened on 1st August by the guest of honour, Malawian republican president Professor Arthur Petter Mutharika adding that judging of pavilions will run for two days.
A proposal by the Lusaka City Council (LCC) to introduce a policy that compels members of the public to produce National Registration Cards (NRC) on purchasing alcohol has cheered Lusaka parents. This policy proposal by LCC is a deliberate move aimed at reducing underage beer drinking in Lusaka. A parent and resident of Lusaka's Ngombe Township, Kunda Lwembe, welcomed the move by LCC and called on government to consider approving the proposal made by the local authority.
SOME Lusaka based Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs (SMEs) have called on government through the Ministry of Mines and Energy to consider adjusting the prices of fuel downwards to allow them stay in business. The entrepreneurs complained that increasing the cost of fuel when the country is currently grappling with challenges of load shedding is a blow to most small scale businesses.
