Government has warned of stern action against erring officers alleged to have been forming fake cooperatives. Agriculture and Cooperatives Deputy Minister Maxas N’gonga said government will not allow any officer to form fake cooperatives. Mr. N’gonga noted that forming counterfeit cooperatives would disadvantage vulnerable but viable farmers who should receive the required amount of farming inputs.
THE Grand Coalition on a people-driven constitution has maintained its stance against the piece-meal enactment of the final draft constitution. Coalition chairperson Leonard Chiti told the Lusaka Star in an interview that his organisation would soon regroup and re-strategise on how it could persuade parliamentarians vote against piece-meal enactment of the constitution.
Renowned gospel artiste Stan Chipuma is this month release his highly anticipated fifth studio album entitle Prophecy. Chipuma told the Lusaka Star in an interview that he will release the new album by mid-February, before sitting for residential examinations at the Copperbelt University (CBU) in Kitwe. “My plan is that the new album should get full air play by end February or early March. It’s just that I am going to CBU for my residentials for a month, but I will try to release the album before I go,” the singer said.
ZAMBIAN music artist Mwenya Mwimba Chiko, popularly known as Chiko Wise, has expressed concern over continued increase of piracy in Zambia, despite the introduction of holograms. In an interview with the Lusaka star, Chiko Wise said after the introduction of the hologram, a special feature which by law is supposed to be affixed on all original audio-visual products to distinguish them from pirated ones, piracy is still on the rise.

IMMINET local fashion designer Kasanga Tumbo’s fashion label, ‘Afro-Retro Fashion Zambia,’ is slowly gaining recognition in the Zambia’s fashion industry. Kasanga narrates to the Lusaka star in an interview that his fashion label, which he launched in 2012, is a blend of the Western and African dress.
